Karen Ann Kirchner Bine age 57 of Perrysburg died Friday February 22, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tiffin, OH on June 17, 1950 to John and Martha Borer Kirchner. Karen was a 1968 graduate of Calvert High School. In 1972, she graduated Cum Laude from Mary Manse College in Toledo with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Karen taught full time at elementary schools in California, Louisiana and Ohio for six years. She substituted for many parochial schools for the past 15 years. Karen was also employed part-time at Marshas Buckeyes for 12 years. She served on the Mary Manse Alumni board for over 25 years and served as vice-president for many terms. Her memberships included Kappa Gamma Pi Honor Society and Toledo Road Runners. Karen volunteered at St. Rose Church, Perrysburg as a Eucharistic Minister, cafeteria volunteer, Helping Hands, Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scouts, The Ursuline Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality Kitchen, Ohio Roads and Perrysburg Food Pantry. On June 21st, 1975, Karen married Jim Bine at St. Joseph Church in Tiffin, OH and 32 years of happiness followed. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Jennifer Bine of Toledo; Steven Bine of Toledo and Gregory Liz Bine of Columbus AFB, Mississippi. Karens husband and children were the most important part of her life and brought her the greatest joys. Also surviving is her mother, Martha Kirchner of Tiffin; mother in-law, Helene Irish of Toledo; sister, Barbara Eborg of Tiffin; Jane Dennis Stacy of Green Springs, OH; brothers, John Kay Kirchner of Austin, TX; Michael Sue Kirchner of Strongsville, OH; Jim Faye Kirchner of Mentor, OH; sister in-law, Linda Bill Poe of Fairfax, VA and several nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her father, John in 2003; sister in-law, Debra Kirchner in 2002 and a niece, Jessica Eborg in 2003. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday February 24, 2008 from 2-8 pm where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 am in St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School or Church, St. Josephs Church, Tiffin, OH; Susan Komen Race for the Cure or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
