June Kornet Wolfe, age 87, passed away Friday Sept. 10, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Vincent and Antonora, she was born May 11, 1923 in Toledo during a freak blizzard. Throughout her young life she was a student of voice and piano. Music was the focus of her life until her graduation from Scott High School. During WWII she worked at the Toledo Ship Yards for the building of the Mackinaw. She married at the end of the war and began a family. In later years she volunteered at Riverside Hospital. The primary focus of Junes life was her family, a devoted wife and mother, and an extraordinary grandmother. She had a lifelong love of Williamsburg, VA and Washington DC, where she visited countless times. June enjoyed her lake front home and often said If you are lucky enough to live by the water you are lucky enough. She fed the geese and ducks well past their migration patterns. June had many hobbies, but travelling to be with her children and grandchildren was number one. Her suit case was always packed. June was the soul of generosity and love. She is survived by her daughter, Claudia St. Clair; grandchildren, Ian St. Clair, Gillian Stephen Smith and their children, Morwen and Colin St. Clair and his son, Evan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard and son, Donald. In lieu of visitation, a memorial service will be held on Sunday Sept. 19, 2010 at 3 PM at Sunset House 4020 Indian Rd Toledo, OH 43606. Memorials in Junes memory may be made to Sunset House or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Junes family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Mary Ellen Luffy and the incredibly caring staff at Sunset House.
