June B. Cothern

June B. Cothern, age 89, of Toledo died Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the University Of Toledo Medical Center. She was born June 25. 1929 in Toledo to George and Grace (Summerskill) Hogrefe. June graduated from DeVilbiss High School 1948. On January 9, 1954 she married John A. Cothern who preceded her in death on June 13, 1998. June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid and crafted prayer shawls. She was also active as a volunteer at St Luke’s Hospital where she knitted caps for newborn babies. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Kathy) Cothern, John (Gladys) Cothern and Barbara (Michael) Foley; grandchildren, Kelly (Dave) Evans, Matthew (Jenn) Cothern, Daniel Foley, James Foley, Lindsey Foley and Evan Cothern; great grandchildren, Josie, Isaac, Linden Cothern and Ella Evans. June was preceded in death by her brother James Hogrefe. Friends will be received on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Interment will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy may do so in June’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
