Julius J. Helinski, 67, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph and Josephine (Denby) Helinski on February 2, 1954. Julius proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years. He enjoyed his work and was employed at the Chrysler Dundee Engine Plant in Dundee, Michigan. He was well known in his community as a member of Turning Point Church in Adrian, MI where he enjoyed playing music, local coffee shops that he visited daily, and where he had previously volunteered his time at Mercy St. Anne’s Hospital. He loved his motorcycles, playing his guitars, and watching the Steelers play football. While his daughters were growing up, Julius could be found every Friday night enjoying pizza and each other’s company. Julius is survived by his wife, Karla; daughters, Beth (Joseph) Zika, Lisa Helinski; former spouse, Nancy Helinski; grandchildren, Cailin Werner, Braeden Zika; great-granddaughter, Paisley Rose; siblings, Josephine Ozdinec, Anthony Helinski; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family are welcome to visit on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH 43623 (419-841-2422). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Julius’s name may be made to the Tecumseh Police Department, Chief Brett Coker, 509 E. Chicago Blvd, Tecumseh, MI 49286, the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
