Heaven echoed with “ Well done good and faithful servant” as Julie Estes Staple was welcomed by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 30th. Her heart’s desire was to bring honor to her Savior and bring hope and encouragement to whomever God directed in her path. The Word of God truly lived in her heart and her Joy in the Lord was shared with love and compassion.
Julie was the wife of W. Edward Staple, deceased. She was a Speech Therapist in Flint, Michigan and Tacoma, Washington . Both Julie and Ed graduated from Michigan State University and attended Central High School in Flint, Michigan where they were both born and raised. Julie and Ed were married for 62 years, living on Windemere Street, Flint Michigan and Crestline Drive, Burton. Their loving parents Walter and Effie Staple and Ralph and Stella (Booth) Estes predeceased them.
Julie built a legacy of faith in her family that spans multiple generations. Now the torch has been passed to those who remain.
The Children are Steven Staple and Denise Staple, John Staple and Lou Anne Staple.
The Grandchildren are Paul and Kelly Ferguson, Travis and Ashley Ferguson, Sarah and Kyle Beauchamp and Dr. Ashley and Michael Felak. Mary Staple and Julie and Josh Eldridge.
Julie and Ed were blessed with many Great Grandchildren which include Makenzie, Ariana, Ella, Brody and Kinley Ferguson . Travis Jr. and Bryce Ferguson. Lyla and Lucy Felak. Cameron, Lennix and Addilynn Beauchamp. Olivia and Michael Eldridge.
She took great joy in serving the Lord in His churches in Flint, Michigan (Asbury) and in Stuart Florida at First United Methodist, Manna Kitchen Cook and Habitat for Humanity as a Home Visitor. At Five Lakes Church in Sylvania, Ohio and Johannesburg, Michigan Christian Church as a student. She also was an active member of Bible Study Fellowship and a lifetime student of scripture.
A very special spot in Julie’s heart was reserved for the young servers at Chick- Fil- A in Sylvania, Ohio ( McCord Road) who ministered to her during her widowhood. She was known to them as Miss Julie.
Julie often quoted Philippians 3:12-14 “ Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”.
A Celebration of Life will be held at main campus location of Five Lakes Church on MItchaw Rd in Sylvania at 11am on Friday April 25th to be followed by a luncheon at the church . Donations in her honor can be made to Five Lakes Church 4255 Mitchaw Rd Sylvania, OH 43560.
