Julie C. Ketola

Julie C. Ketola, age 52, of Maumee, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2018 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born March 17, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked as an insurance adjuster with West Bend Mutual, retiring in 2007. In her free time, Julie was an avid reader, enjoyed art, antiques, playing cards, crocheting, needlepoint and cooking. She collected signed cookbooks, frogs and Kewpie Dolls and loved her Shelties, Lola and Lucy. Julie had been active in the community theater in Sheboygan, WI and served as a precinct judge with the Lucas County Board of Elections. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her beloved husband. Julie was courageous, warm-hearted and had a great sense of humor. She will be lovingly remembered for her authentic goodness and genuine concern for the happiness of others. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Cecilia A. Braman; husband, Joseph E. Ketola; brother, Joseph Leutgeweger; sister, Kathryn (Kurt) Wilcken; numerous aunts and cousins; and many dear friends including, Anne and Sheldon Edelstein and Family, Kathleen and Keith Smith and Family, and Jean and Lee Faber. She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert A. Leutgeweger. Family and friends are invited to visit from 3-7 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
