Judith "Judy" Risch, 76, of Oak Harbor passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Ottawa County Riverview Nursing Home. Judy was born on February 12, 1949, in Fremont, Ohio to Carl A. & Margaret I. (Hasselbach) Miller.
Judy was a 1967 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and then continued her education at the Career Academy in Columbus, Ohio where she pursued certification as a Medical Assistant, ultimately retiring from the medical field as a Medical Office Manager.
Judy married Marvin C. Risch during the great, North-Central Ohio flood of 1969 on July 5th at Faith Lutheran Church in Fremont, Ohio. During their 56 years of marriage, they enjoyed camping with friends, snowmobiling in Michigan in their younger years, then winter vacations in Florida after retirement. However, the light of her life was being their grandkids' biggest cheerleaders at athletic contests, FFA events, and the county fair to support 4-H projects. Alongside her husband, Judy was also a 4-H advisor, ensuring her daughters learned responsibility and "To Make the Best Better"; life skills which were also passed down to her grandchildren. Judy also enjoyed spending her spare time in her flower gardens, trips to Amish Country, and formerly being active in her Young Farm Wives group, along with being active in church as a former Sunday School Teacher, member of Bell Choir, Rebecca Circle, and Sarah Circle.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by daughters Sherri (Brian) Kleinhans of Port Clinton, Ohio and Betsy (Von) Cremeans of Ashville, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin (Seree) Kleinhans of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Morgan McFarland of Mansfield, Ohio, and Mason McFarland of Ashville, Ohio; great-grandson, Briggs Kleinhans; siblings, Nancy Burkin and Richard "Dick" Miller of Fremont, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Beard, Linda Dehring, Marlene (Bill) Webb, Rosalie (Dan) Traut; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Karen) Risch & Larry (Dorla) Risch; and many nieces & nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Regina Risch; sisters in-law, Marian Cherry & Geneva Risch; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Risch, Edward Beard, Mike Dehring & Paul Cherry; sister-in-law, Freda Risch; and special niece and Goddaughter, Karen Odell.
