Judith A. Dr. Telb

On August 2, 2012 at the age of 71, Judith Ann Telb of Monclova reached the end of a long, productive, and fulfilling life. Judi, as she was affectionately known, was born in Toledo on July 14, 1941 to J. M. and Fatima Rahal Telb. Judi grew up in South Toledo. She attended Arlington Elementary, and Libbey High School where she was active in school organizations and a lead majorette in the marching band. After graduation from Libbey she attended the University of Toledo. She earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education from UT. While in college she became a member of her beloved Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She maintained a special life-long relationship with her Pi Phi sisters, including her nieces Missy and Allison. She also enjoyed her four years as a member of the University of Toledo famous dancing Rockettes. She later earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree Ph D. from Dowling Green State University. She enjoyed a 45 year career as an elementary school teacher, principal, and consultant. She taught in several local school districts before becoming an elementary school principal for 25 years, of which 20 years were in the Bowling Green School System. Upon retirement, she was recruited by the Lucas County Educational Service Center to be a consultant on matters relating to elementary school management. This retirement job lasted for 18 years. Judi was committed and dedicated to her teachers, students, and parents. The impact she made on the families of her students is and will be life-long. Many, many now are better today for having been taught or guided by Dr. Judith. Judi enjoyed traveling, cooking, lunching with groups of friends and teaching and treating her great nieces and nephews. She had a passion for clothes shopping and was very successful at it. Judi was active in several professional and charitable organizations. She volunteered her time to assist the less fortunate in our community. Judi was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William Billy. She is survived by her brother Dr. James A. Telb and his wife Linda. Nieces Lori Telb, Margaret Telb John DiSalle and Allison Michael Telb-Nicholson: the lights of her life, her great nieces and nephews; Jack, Kady, and Emma Nicholson, and James, Matthew, and Rose DiSalle. Auntie Judi loved and spoiled them. She was an important part of their lives and will be greatly missed. Judi is also survived by Kenny Robinson her best friend, and 40+ years companion, and confidant. He was her advisor, sounding board, chauffer, complaint manager, care giver, and her security blanket. He survives her and is loved and appreciated by Judis family. Thank you Kenny, You are family. Judy will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive guests Monday, August 6, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo 419-841-2422.
