Judith “Garn” Pidcock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 23, 1941, in Toledo, OH, Judy spent her life spreading warmth, laughter, and conversation wherever she went.
Judy grew up in the Old West End in Toledo and attended Cherry Elementary School before graduating from Scott High School in 1959. She started her career working at Retail Credit during high school before spending a majority of her career working at the University of Toledo Department of Continuing Education, where she made lifelong friends.
Judy’s life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Ron, on a blind date in 1958. Their connection was instant and lasting. They were married on May 14, 1960, and celebrated 65 beautiful, loving years together. Their marriage was filled with laughter, partnership, and unwavering devotion — a true example of lifelong love. Together, they proudly raised two children, Rick and Julie. Rick ignited her love for sports which forever bonded them. Judy and Julie were best friends and the two talked every day. She was so grateful and loved spending time at the warm, inviting home Julie and her husband, Ron, created which was the gathering place for all their friends and family.
Judy cherished a lifelong, unbreakable bond with her beloved sister, Mary Jane. The two shared countless adventures together, from trips to Florida to the unforgettable day the two went parasailing for her 80th birthday. Judy loved to remind everyone that Mary Jane was “two years, two months, and two weeks older” than her. True to the nature of sisters, they often bickered but always with love, maintaining a connection that lasted until the very end. Their sisterhood was one of Judy’s greatest joys.
Judy and Ron treasured time spent up north in Baldwin, Michigan, where they enjoyed many summers canoeing and winters snowmobiling alongside her sister, their children, nephews, and good friends, The Smiczeks.
They also shared cherished years traveling with their beloved group, fondly known as “Frick and Frack.” Together with their dearest friends, they filled weekends with golf, travel, stories, and laughter. In between trips, they spent many nights with their best friends, The Millers and The Dulinskys.
Judy never met a stranger—whether in the grocery store aisle or at a Southview football game, she had a natural gift for turning everyday moments into meaningful connections. Her love for Southview athletics was more than just school spirit; it was a lifelong loyalty and a joyful tradition she shared proudly with her family and community.
A true coach’s wife, Judy was not only the loudest supporter on the sidelines, but also the behind-the-scenes force that helped power Ron’s remarkable 48-year coaching career. Her encouragement, organization, and dedication helped shape countless young players’ lives. She had a tradition the players never forgot — after every game, Judy made sure the team celebrated together with Barry’s Bagels, a simple but heartfelt gesture that made every player feel special and part of their football family.
Her favorite vacation spot was Hilton Head, SC, where she spent her days sunbathing on the beach and evenings sitting on the deck, watching the sunset and sipping a Seabreeze. She spent her summer days floating on her daughter’s pond, soaking up the sun, chatting with the neighbors, and perfecting her tan. Judy took great pride in being the tannest person in the room — and she never missed an opportunity to hold up her arm next to yours to compare.
Above all, Judy cherished her family. She was the heart of every gathering, the loudest cheerleader, and the first to offer comfort, wisdom, or a listening ear. Her greatest accomplishment was being a grandmother and she never missed an opportunity to brag about her grandchildren. Especially the fact that all seven of them attended Southview High School, where she could always be seen supporting them at every musical production, football game, soccer game, and basketball game.
Judy was met in heaven by her parents and stepmom, Letha Simpson and George and Millie Gray; parents-in-law, Kermit and Florence Pidcock; aunt, Virginia Biggins; nephew, Kevin Carver; stepsister, Sharon and her husband Bud Gose; and sister-in-law, Judy and her husband Mike Kazmierczak.
Judy’s legacy lives on through her husband of 65 years, Ron Pidcock; her children, Rick Pidcock and Julie (Ron) Breeden; her sister, Mary Jane Ryan; her grandchildren, Ainsley (Brandon), Alex, Sydney (Craig), Ally (Austen), Eric (Madolin), Evan (Chloe), and Ethan (Amelia); Great-grandchildren, Finn, Ayla, and Baby Pawlaczyk; Nephews, Kelly Carver, Tim Brahier, and Shawn Kazmierczak; Niece, Natalie Carver; and all those who were blessed to call her a friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, her spirited personality, and her deep devotion to the people she loved.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judy’s life at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH, on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm for a visitation with a Service and sharing of stories from 4:00-5:00pm.
Her voice, laughter, and love for conversation will echo in our hearts forever. She leaves behind a legacy of connection, warmth, and unwavering love.
