Judith Ann Mahoney, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 29, 2023 in hopes for another opportunity to be with her soulmate.
Judy was born on March 17, 1940 to Cornelius Kuhn and Lucile (Schott) Kuhn. Judy was born and raised in Louisville, Ohio alongside her brother and best friend Ronald Kuhn. Judy graduated from Louisville High School in 1958. Judy pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. After graduating, she worked as a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic. While in Cleveland, she met the love of her life Daniel Mahoney. The two joined in marriage on November 16, 1963.
In her early years, Judy enjoyed visiting the farm, playing cards, and spending time at her lake house. She truly enjoyed visiting Wamplers Lake with Dan, the children, and the grandchildren. Her and Dan named their cottage the “Innisfree” (inn-is-free) because they always enjoyed bringing company together to share love and laughter. She also had many fond memories traveling to different spots of the country with some of her closest friends and family.
Above all things in life, Dan and Judy were most proud of their four children: Neal, Patty, Gene, and Jenny. Judy took great pride in her German heritage and stood her ground in all discussions and debates. She was the type of person you wanted fighting in your corner!
Judy was a member of Gesu Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Irish Hills.
A special thank you to the nursing staff at Otterbein Sunset House for their constant support and assistance. It meant so much to have her reside in a place that she once served others’ in.
Judy is survived by her four children Neal (Amy) Mahoney, Patricia (Dan) Hartnett, Eugene Mahoney, and Jennifer (Jason) Wampler; her eleven grandchildren Danny, Kelsey, Mary, Neal, Connor, Allie, Emmie, Mallory, Grant, Matthew, and Jaelyn; great-grandchild Carson; brother Ron Kuhn; sister-in-law Kathy (Mahoney) Dever; sister-in-law Barb (Jim) Mahoney; and sister-in-law Kathy (Marty) Mahoney.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Dan Mahoney and her parents Cornelius and Lucile Kuhn.

“I love you, a bushel and a peck
A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck
A hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap
A barrel and a heap and I'm talkin' in my sleep
About you, about you…”
