Judith “Judy” A. Camper, 80, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on April 23, 2022, after a short illness, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. Judy was born to Arthur and Edith (Schumacher) Camper, at home in Genoa, and lived in the same house her entire life. She graduated from Genoa High School in 1959 and started her working career with the Social Security Administration in downtown Toledo, Ohio. Judy retired after many years of faithful service and for a few years worked in the office of Chippewa Tool & Manufacturing in Woodville, Ohio.
Judy loved animals and throughout her life she always had feline companions, her most recent was her beloved “Mr. Dickens.” She enjoyed traveling across the United States and Europe and stepping out with her family, even at a moment’s notice! Judy was also a long-time member of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, Ohio.
Judy is survived by her sister, Bertha “Bert” Honner, nephew, Michael (Wendy) Foss, nieces, Laurie (David) Cody and Susan (Paul Holewinski) Cole, five great nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marian Cole, Audrey Foss, and Phyllis Camper and her brother, Gerald Camper.
A graveside service for Judy will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, Ohio 43452, or the Donor’s Choice.
