Judith Ann Hoeft passed away on July 21, 2025. Judy was born on February 8, 1938, in Fremont, Ohio, to Elwood and Irene (Butler) Holcombe.
She graduated from Clay-Genoa High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University, where she was selected as a Martha Jennings Scholar in 1982–83. She taught in the Genoa Schools for 35 years, retiring in 1997.
Judy loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted Kentucky basketball fan and also enjoyed Ohio State football. A longtime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa, she also served on the Altar Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mel; and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandra Holcombe.
She is survived by her daughters: Lisa (Dan) Snider and Christine (Robert) Lowe; grandchildren: Amanda (Michael) Gantt, Andrew Snider, Dr. Stephen (Caitlin) Lowe, Nathan (Abigail) Lowe, and Adrienne (Dr. Dan) Pontius; and great-grandchildren: Addison and Connor Gantt.
Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, is assisting the family with arrangements.
