Judith Anne Heban of Rossford, Ohio entered Heaven’s gates on January 4, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on January 12, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Emelia (Hodur) Kwapich. She was a 1958 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. She married the love of her life, Norbert A. Heban, Jr., on November 22, 1958, and spent 63 years as his “Doll.” Judy was a lifelong Catholic. She was a member of St. Anthony and St. Hyacinth Catholic Churches as a child and St. Mary Magdalene and All Saints Catholic Church after her marriage. She was instrumental in starting the Senior Ministry program at All Saints and was a committee member for several years. Judy was active in the church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir, assisted with the annual rummage sale, provided food for funeral brunches, and helped coordinate the May Crowning processions when her children were in grade school. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and passed on the love of cooking and baking authentic Polish food to her children and grandchildren. Judy was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, loved going to garage sales, and enjoyed playing the piano. She spent many hours knitting dishcloths, which she gave to family, friends, and medical staff at her and Norb’s appointments. Judy worked as a clerk at Tiedke’s in her teenage years; as a bookkeeper at the family gas station, Hodur and Sons, during her first year of marriage; and as a Library/Media Clerk at St. Ursula Academy in the early 1980s. She was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. She was active in the Parent Teacher Organization, served as a room mother, and attended all of her children’s activities. Judy was an appointed member of the City of Rossford Planning Commission for many years. Judy will be dearly missed by her children, Kevin (Ann) Heban, Norb (Pattie) Heban III, Sharon (Matt) Giles, Terry (Charlie) McKnight, Kelly (Andrew) Garza; grandchildren, Kenny, Kirsi, Alex, Christie, Courtney, Greg, Jenni, Matthew, Brian, Joey, Sarah, Elijah, Alyssa; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Dale (Kathy) Kwapich, Pam Crabtree, Roger (Debbie) Kwapich; siblings-in-law, Richard Heban, Stephen (Ann) Heban, Nancy (Marcel) Poupard, Marie (Ron) Grove; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Norbert A. Heban, Jr. on December 22, 2021; her parents; parents-in-law, Mary Louise and Norbert A. Heban, Sr.; sister-in-law, Doris Heban; and brother-in-law, Fred Crabtree. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg for their gentle and loving care of Judy in her final days and Father Anthony Recker for his spiritual guidance and personal visits. Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, Rossford, Ohio, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, Rossford, Ohio (419-666-1566). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Judy’s name be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be left at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
