Judith Mae Coci

Judith Mae Coci, age 75, of Toledo, passed away on January 19, 2015 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1940 in Toledo to the late Roland and Evelyn (Miller) Gerwin. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Judy earned her bachelors degree in education from the University of Toledo. She taught elementary school in Washington Twp. for several years before devoting herself full-time as a homemaker. Judy was a Sunday School Teacher at Augsburg Lutheran Church for many years. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed visiting the casino in her free time. After her children were grown, Judy provided child care from her home. She was well respected for her care of young children, as she incorporated her love of education into forming well-rounded children. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Arnold J. Coci; children, Michael Tanner, Lisa Tanner-Edwards and Steven Tanner; and grandchildren, Ashley Tanner and Alexa, Zoe and Mason Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Gerwin. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) concluded with services to celebrate her life at 7:00 p.m. Private committal services will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
