Judith Loraine Bowerman, 79, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at St. Vincent Medical Center under Hospice care. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 26, 1944 to Clarence W. and Vivian (Kane) Sumner. Judy married her sweetheart, William G. Bowerman on June 21, 1969 and they shared 50 years together and had two loving daughters.
Judy began her teaching career at Bowser High School in Toledo Public Schools where she taught Art for six years, before deciding to start a family and raise their two daughters at home. She later returned to teaching in 1982, where Judy’s passion for inspiring young artists led to a career that spanned over 25 years at Woodland Elementary in Perrysburg, Ohio. Judy’s passion for Art Education had a profound impact on her students, who share fond memories of her still today.
Outside of the classroom, Judy loved to experience the Arts in the world around her through attending various Fairs, Museums, or Musicals. She also loved being outside whether it was enjoying a brisk walk, a round of golf with friends, or simply raking up the leaves during the Fall. She always made time for friends, family, and laughter. All who knew her appreciated her artistic love for decorating a table while preparing a favorite meal. She was a devoted member of the Rossford United Methodist Church and truly loved singing in the choir with her many friends over the past thirty years.
Judy will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Virginia (Christopher) Pacer, Rebecca (Matthew) Terry; grandchildren, Benjamin Pacer, Michael Pacer, Jackson Terry, and Mia Terry, as well as her siblings Nancy Loomis, John Sumner, and Maryann Frankforther. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband William G. Bowerman, and her oldest brother Robert Sumner. A special thanks goes out to her niece, Jenny Ann McCarthy, as well as various friends and family who provided her with additional care, love, and support over the last several months. Your unwavering support was very much appreciated and felt by the entire family.
Family and Friends will be received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, Ohio 43606 on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.
