Joyce Burgin Storehalder left this world to be with the Lord on June 5th, 2019. She was surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in Holland, Ohio to Elva and Milton Burgin. She graduated from Swanton High School. In 1955, Joyce married Paul Storehalder, her sweetheart of 64 years. Later in life, at the age of 47, Joyce decided to go to college. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.A. in Social Work, and Tulane University with a M.A. in Social Work. It was the perfect major, as Joyce was kind-hearted and always quietly offered a helping hand to anyone in need. She touched many people's lives, and was loved by all who met her. Joyce enjoyed playing card and word games with friends and family, talking religion in a non-confrontational way, critiquing HGTV decorating shows, and telling colorful stories about her childhood. She absolutely loved her grandchildren, Chelsea and Andrew, and always enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of Oak Road Lutheran Church in Lilburn, Georgia, and formerly a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington, Louisiana. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Elva and Milton Burgin, and her brother, Warren Burgin. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Storehalder; her children, Merle Storehalder, Amy Soerries (her favorite son-in-law, Mark), and Ann Storehalder Stevens; and her grandchildren, Chelsea and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Davis, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was a special person, who will be greatly missed, but will always be in our hearts. We all know that she is having a fantastic time celebrating in Heaven with loved ones.
