Joyce Jean Jimison Odeneal Sarver, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Little Torch Key, Florida, died Tuesday, December 14, 2011, at Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida. Born, May 12, 1935, in Rudolph, Ohio, to Kenneth and Evelyn (Lindquist) Jimison, Joyce was the eldest of their three children. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1953. Joyce married Edward G. Odeneal in 1954 with whom she had three daughters. She was very active in her girls’ lives, making their clothes, volunteering as “home room” mom, and ferrying them back and forth to town for play dates and school events.She also volunteered for several years with the Ladies’ Auxiliary at St Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, working mainly in the gift shop. Joyce was also an avid bowler, participating in both the Ladies’ leagues and the Ma & Pa leagues at the Everglades Bowling Alley on Rt 25 in Perrysburg till a diagnosis at age 36 of Rheumatoid Arthritis forced her to quit. For a time, she owned and operated a cross-stitch shop in Perrysburg called Needleworx. She always had some knitting or crocheting in progress, also, until finally, the combination of RA and osteoarthritis made her put away her crafts for good.In reconnecting with high school friends, Joyce met and married her best friend, Richard A Sarver, of Perrysburg, OH, August 8, 1990. Together, Joyce and Dick traveled extensively, including cruises to the Hawaiian Islands, the Nile River in Egypt, Mexico, and Alaska. For the past 20 plus years, Joyce and Dick have driven up and down I-75 almost every two months between their two homes to spend time with family at both ends of the Interstate. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Richard, her three daughters, Robin (Chip) Holst, Temperance, MI; Jayne Odeneal, Waterville, OH; and Lynda (Dave) Parks, Perrysburg,OH, her stepchildren, Stephanie (Walt) BuBoltz, Ruston, LA; Tammy Roberts, Big Pine Key, FL; and Richard (Laura) Sarver Jr, Key West, FL. Joyce is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored: Andy Holst, Ian Hayward, Nicholas Hayward, Taylor Parks, Allyson Parks, Samantha Boot, David Miller Jr, Jeffrey Boseman Jr, Mikaylyn Roberts, Emily Roberts, and James Sarver.Joyce is also survived by her siblings, Donna Waldo, Fallon, NV, and Charles Jimison Jr, Glennellon, FL Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, December 19, 2011, with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating .
