Joyce A. Rizzo

Joyce A. Rizzo, age 79 of Maumee, Ohio, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 31, 1931 to Howard and Mildred Radsick Willey. Joyce was employed by the Toledo Board of Education in the Food Service Dept. She married the love of her life, John Rizzo on September 9, 1950 in Historic St. Patricks Church. He preceded her in death in 2006. Joyce was a member of the Maumee Fraternal Order of Eagles and R.E.A.C. She enjoyed traveling and traveled to every state. Joyce was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. She will always be remembered as a woman of great faith and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving is her daughter, Ann Glenn Banas; sons, John Cindy Rizzo, Jim Sue Rizzo and Mike Rizzo; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Larry Pat Willey and Kenny Delores Ziegler. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Iris McMaster. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 2-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Maumee. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
