Joyce Katherine Albert Rhodes

Joyce Katherine Rhodes, age 73, of Swanton died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in Toledo on February 28, 1944 to Raymond and Kathleen (Morrison) Albert. Graduating from Rogers High School in 1962, Joyce went to work with her father at Swan Creek Lumber Co. On May 7, 1966 she married Robert L. Rhodes Jr. and together they moved to New Jersey where she worked for Atlantic Creosote Co. After two years, she and Robert came back to Toledo to make their home and she returned to working with her father. Joyce was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, was a fantastic cook and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Rhodes Jr.; sons, Aaron (Holly) Rhodes and Neal Rhodes; daughter, Laura Rhodes; grandchildren, Casza, Gabrielle, Jorryn, Olivia and Shane; great granddaughter, Carissa as well as her brother, Glenn (Janet) Albert. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Kathleen. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Swancreek Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to Zion Lutheran Church, 3360 Nebraska Ave. Toledo, OH.
