Joyce A. Gueldenzoph, age 73, passed away Monday October 26, 2015 at Mercy St. Anne Hospital surrounded by her family. The daughter of Edwin and Theola Pilaczynski, she was born September 1, 1942 in Toledo, OH. She was a graduate of Macomber Whitney High School. She earned her Bachelors in Education and Masters in Behavioral Science at the University of Toledo. Joyce enjoyed a long career with Toledo Public Schools for over 30 years as a teacher and counselor. She was an avid reader and a loyal fan of Law Order. She enjoyed going to car shows with Ron and attended many of the local festivals. Joyce volunteered at the Rape Crisis Center and Mercy St. Anne Hospital. She was proud of her polish heritage and was known for sharing her polish holiday bread, oplatek. Her greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. She is survived by her children, Roy (Kim) Gueldenzoph, Amy (Ken) Matt; grandchildren, Garrett and Ayden Gueldenzoph, Stephanie and Corey Matt; great granddaughter, Adalyn Sanchez; brothers, Norb (Betty), Ken (Cindy), John (Nanette) Pilaczynski; sister, Donna Kammeyer; aunt, Delores Sparagowski; fiancé, Ron Hendershot. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bob and Tom Pilaczynski; granddaughter, Kenndyl Gueldenzoph. There will be a memorial gathering on Friday from 4-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 2265 Livernois Rd. #410 troy, MI 48083.
