Josephine K. Riser

Josephine K. Riser, 96, of Holland, Ohio passed away at her home on Thursday, June 16, 2016. She was born on February 16, 1920 in Bridgeport, Ohio to Frank and Anna (Gasper) Kolasci and she married Leonard P. Riser on February 26, 1937. Josephine was a member of the Eastern Star while living in West Virginia. She liked to crochet and was featured in a local West Virginia newspaper for crocheting the Last Supper. The family moved to Toledo in the 60’s where Josephine and her husband, Leonard, went on to own Toledo Tile for over 30 years. Josephine enjoyed gardening and in her younger years always had a beautiful garden. She loved to travel and made it to almost every state as well as Europe, Asia and Mexico. Her greatest joy was spending time with family especially her two great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter, Judy DiSumma; granddaughter, Erin (Danny) Hernandez; great grandchildren, Savanah and Maya. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna, husband, Leonard, and 4 sisters. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at Toledo Memorial Park in the Chapel of Memories, followed by entombment.
