Josephine M Perez

Josephine M. (Kostka) Perez, 93, of North Baltimore, formerly of Perrysburg, OH, died Friday, September 30, 2016. She was born in Holgate, Ohio on July 12, 1923 to Joseph and Barbara (Konecny) Kostka. Josephine was a 1942 graduate of Perrysburg High School and worked for Bowling Green State University for over 21 years as a custodian. On January 15, 1973, Josie married Gilbert Perez in Angola, Indiana. Josie was a long time member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. She also enjoyed playing piano and the accordion in Jim Gable’s Band and the Sentimental Sounds Trio for local nursing homes. Josephine is survived by her husband, Gilbert; grandchildren, April (Sam) Pratt, LaVonne Huther, Joseph (Melissa) Huther; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David Huther. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William; daughters, Linda Mae Smith and Josephine Huther; and siblings, Mary Thys, John Kostka, and Louis Kostka. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 4 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133). Friends and family are invited to meet at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street in Perrysburg where a Funeral Mass will held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with burial to follow at St. Rose Cemetery.
