Josephine V. Lawniczak, age 93, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Josephine was born in Columbus, Nebraska on January 31, 1917 to Valentine and Mary Gawlik and moved with her family to Toledo during the Great Depression. A former parishioner of Regina Coeli Church, Josephine also enjoyed Sunday Mass at Rosary Cathedral. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to garden. Josephine enjoyed spending afternoons at Wildwood Metropark with her beloved dog, Chelsea, who had been a faithful companion for 17 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Kuehman Potato Chip Company and later for Coyne Laundry. She was known for her ability to get to any destination in Toledo by making only right turns. Josephine is survived by her daughters, Gerri Easton and Charlene Donald Kuhn; grandchildren, Christopher A. Shawnna Easton, Lisa A. Robert Clouse, Kristie Jeremy Feeback, and Todd Kuhn; and great-grandchildren, Corinne J. Clouse, Courtnee M. Clouse; Christopher A. Easton II, Brent W. Easton, Mia C. Feeback, and Charlie J. Feeback. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; and five brothers and sisters. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Tom McAlear for his years of compassion and care and also to the 7th floor nurses at the Toledo Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 10-11:00am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, Toledo, OH. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am.
