Josephine M Keiser

Josephine M. “Marie” Keiser, 76, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on May 2, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo on November 12, 1937 to Mike and Mary (Barracco) Giacalone. Marie was of strong Sicilian heritage, which she was extremely proud of. She was a member of St. Martin de Porres, formerly, St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Marie was very feisty and outgoing. She was a member of the Red Hat Society participated in all their parties. Marie was dedicated to helping others and volunteer work. She was a LPN at Little Sisters of the Poor, volunteered at the Senior Center and St. Louis Helping Hands. Marie also enjoyed Country and Christian music. She was a well-rounded individual ethnically and took in many friends as family. Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Ruth (Aaron) Keiser, grandchildren, David (Missy) Smith, Anthony (Celina) Smith and James Smith, great grandchildren, David Jr., Dominic, Jonathan, Alexis, Aniyah, Anthony Jr., and Cameron, godson, Daniel Castillo, brothers, Pete and Salvatore “Frank” Giacalone, special friend, Digaffy, the Smith and Oviedo family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2:00 to 9:00 PM in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary St Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 PM. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 9:45 AM. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
