Josephine E. Josie Duran

Josephine “Josie” E. Duran, 79, of Swanton, OH passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018 at The Lakes of Monclova surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 21, 1939 to Manuel O. and Eulalia (Alvarado) Espinoza in San Juan, TX. She married Elpidio “Joe” Duran on November 29, 1958 in Holgate, OH. Together they raised three children. Josie was a member of St. Richards Catholic Church. She was soft spoken, who made an impression on everyone she met. Josie enjoyed singing and dancing, especially with her sisters and golfing with her ladies league friends at Valleywood Country Club. She frequently enjoyed her McDonald's breakfast with her husband and their friends. Her pride and joy was her family; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Josie is survived by her loving husband, Joe Duran; children, Kristina (Marty) Laslo, Tomas (Kerry) Duran and Angela (Jeffery) Duran; (thankful to Tina, Midge, Rachel, Shannon); grandchildren, Nina (Ben) Shipman, Andon (Maura) Duran, Roxanne Duran and Evan Laslo; great grandchildren, Dalton & Jolene Shipman and baby girl Duran due in June; two brothers and three sisters; several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879). A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Richards Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Swanton Township Cemetery.
