Josephine Alvarado

Josephine Alvarado, 95, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at The Alpine House, Toledo. Josephine was born in Puerto Rico on March 19, 1920 to MiquelAngel and Juana (Rosado) Iguina. She married Enrique Alvarado on November 25, 1948 in Manhattan, New York and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2005. Josephine will be greatly missed by her loving family, numerous friends and those who had the pleasure to know her. Josephine worked as a seamstress for over 35 years with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local #62 located in Manhattan, New York and she was a member of Foundation Stone Christian Church. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and spending time with loved ones. She especially loved her cup of coffee and watching her Novelas de Telemundo. Josephine is survived by her loving children, Myrta I. Gschaar and Enrique Alvarado, Jr.; grandchildren, Mayra, Bernadette, Vanessa, Michelle; great grandchildren, Luis, Cynthia, LeeAnn, Gilbert, Olivia, Erica, Isaiah and Louis. She is preceded in death by her parents MiquelAngel and Juana, sister, Antonia Lugo and brother, MiguelAngel Iguina. Friends will be received from 3:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH (419) 865-8879. Funeral services will be held later in Puerto Rico with burial at Porta Coeli Cemetery in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Memorial contributions may be made in Josephine’s name to the Alpine House to assist those in need of transportation.
