Joseph J Woda

Joseph J. Woda, age 81, of Perrysburg, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant struggle with dementia. Joseph was born on June 15, 1935 to Ernest and Caroline (Groch) Woda in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1954 graduate of Woodward High School and a proud Army veteran of the Korean War. He married his beloved wife Linda M. (Hauman) Woda on April 5, 1957. Joe worked as a Production Superintendent for New Mather Metals retiring after 23 years in 1995. After retirement, Joe and Linda spent 13 wonderful years in Florida where they enjoyed shuffleboard, with Joe serving as Shuffleboard President for 9 years. Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his wife, Linda M. Woda; children, Mark (Kimberly) Woda, Tamara (Robert) Haigh, Todd (Kimberly) Woda, Robin (Eric) Hartzell and Kelly (Frank) Artrip; grandchildren, Reilly, Joseph, Molly, Kayla, Tyler, Evan, Logan, Alex, Zoe, Cassidy and Conner; and three great-grandchildren, Caiden, Roman and Emery. Family and friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 P.M. with Father Herb Weber officiating. Burial will be private in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Manor of Perrysburg staff, especially Diane, Dischelle, Crystal, Brandy and Elita for their loving care and to Hospice of Perrysburg, Nicole, Stephanie, Chris and special thanks to Jo Ellen and the rest of the staff who went above and beyond in their care for Joe.
