Joseph L. Tate

Joseph L. Tate age 81 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Joe was born in Toledo, OH on November 29, 1934 to Robert and Marie (Scrimgeour) Tate. Joe was employed at Ohio Bell as an installer for many years. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War era. Joe enjoyed camping throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana; fishing and loved to tinker and fix things. He was an avid University of Michigan fan and was a 40 year ticket holder. Joe was a member of the American Legion and past president of the Knights of Equity. Joe is survived by his son, Thomas Tate; daughters, Elizabeth Siefert, Suzanne (Brian) Screptock, Cynthia (Steve) Lodzinski and Deborah (Mark) Fischer; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Bob, Jack and Mike Tate and sister, Mary Edgeworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Corey Carpenter and Eric Fischer. Visitation will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Community, 24250 Dixie Hwy, Perrysburg, on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
