Joseph H. Morin age 83, of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday July 26, 2012 in his home. Joe was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 11, 1928 to Delphis M. and Margaret Axson Morin. Joe earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from The University of Washington and a Masters in Music Degree from Bowling Green State University. Joe married Marlene Laurent of Decatur, IN on May 18, 1957. He taught music and was the Orchestra Director at Maumee City Schools from 1959 until 1986. He was also a violinist with the Toledo Symphony from 1959 until 1998. Joe enjoyed repairing string instruments, composing music, traveling with his wife Marlene; tennis and golf. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marlene; children, Therese Andrew Franks of Midland, TX; Andy Kathy Morin of Folsom, CA: Vince Morin of Citrus Heights, CA; Michelle David Poole of Manhattan, MT and Elise Carlos Salazar of Ellicott City, MD; 23 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Also surviving are his sister, Irene Fanning of Vancouver, British Columbia and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster daughter, Shirley Robinson and brother, Delphis Andre Morin. Friends and family will be received on Sunday July 29, 2012 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Services will begin on Monday in the funeral home at 12:30 pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Maumee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Church Commitment to Community Campaign, Toledo Symphony or Odyssey Hospice.
