Joseph R. Brown

Joseph R. Brown age 80 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Smoke Run, PA on February 3, 1942, to Clifford and Minnie (McKinney) Brown. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Selfridge Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Joe was employed at Chrysler for over 30 years and was a member of the UAW Retirees. He was also a member of Maumee United Methodist Church where he was involved in PALS and Dartball. Joe enjoyed hunting, football, baseball, volunteering at the Good Samaritan, family game night and attending his grandchildren’s activiti

Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Betty; daughters, Sharon (Timothy) Rudey and Tina (Tom) Sullivan; grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott) Schlaff, Amanda (Dylan) Woods, Alex Sullivan and great-grandchildren, Camryn, and Parker Schlaff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Haines, Richard Brown, and Sandy Cervenak.

Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 3-8 PM. Additional visitation will be held at Maumee Unted Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St, Maumee, OH on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church or the Cherry Street Mission.
