Joseph James Brewer

Joseph James Brewer, of Austin, Texas, age 34, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016. Joey was born September 10, 1982, in Houston, Texas. He attended grade school and high school in Genoa, Ohio, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing soccer, baseball, football and working on computers. His smile was contagious, and he truly loved so many people. Anybody that met Joey was a better person because of it. Joey was a program developer in Austin. His work also took him to Oregon, Ohio and Florida. He was passionate about his career. He is survived by his mother, Susan Brewer, and father, Dave Brewer; his brother, Steve Brewer and his wife, Sarah; grandparents, George and Helen OBrien and Dennis and Laverne Brewer; and niece and nephew, Mason Brewer and Raegan Brewer. His grandmother, Constance Volosevich, preceded him in death. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 Main St., Genoa, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Friends and family are invited to the church hall following the burial to share in a luncheon and a time of sharing. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials for Joey be directed to the Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 98, Genoa, OH 43430. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
