Joseph David Branson

Joseph Dave David Branson, age 66, of Maumee passed away on August 6, 2018 at Mercy Health- St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born to Joe and Jean (Christian) Branson on November 6, 1951 in Pennington Gap, Virginia. He was an electronics tech at CB & I for 30 years, and spent 15 years as a Laboratory Technician at St. Vincent Medical Center. Joe was an avid golfer, fisherman, and sailor. He enjoyed running, biking, and participating in 10ks and Triathlons. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to his home in Venice, Florida, and tending to his Hibiscus. He attended St. Josephs Catholic Church in Maumee. Joe brightened up any room he walked into. His laugh and wittiness were contagious and never met a person he did not consider a friend. We know he is up there talking about the elusive green flash, making holes in one and sending his positive energy and love to all of us down here. Joe is survived by his loving bride of 33 years, Leslie; sons, Scott, Mark (Morgan), Matthew; daughter, Tracy (Alan) Flak; grandchildren, Eli, Miles, Vaughn, Liv, Nolan; parents, Jean and Joe Branson; brother, Tim (Mary) Branson; father-in-law, Lester (Gloria) Seward; sisters-in-law, Vikki Chandler, Robin Seward; nephews, James and David Branson. Also surviving is his infamous golf posse, Dan, Jeff, Goodie, and Randy; foster dog, Addie. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother-in-law, Betty Seward; and canine companion, Gracie. Friends and Family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee from 3-8 P.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2018. The Funeral Ceremony will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 104 W Broadway St, Maumee at 11:00 A.M. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society or Mercy Health Foundation Alcuin Bennett Fund. The family would like the nurses of St. Vincents on 4C, the Ohio State James Cancer Hospital, especially Dr. Rosko for all their loving care.
