Joseph “Joe” E. Bowman III, 68, of Perrysburg, Ohio died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Washington D.C. on July 30, 1944 to Joseph and Mary (Whitney) Bowman Jr. Joe graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Science. He was a hard worker and retired from Channel 11 in 2009 as an Account Executive. Joe also served his country in the United States National Guard. Joe was a Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed watching the games. He was a avid golfer with passion and great appreciation toward the game. Every chance he got he would play an around of golf. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cookie (Myers) Bowman; sons, Joseph “Joe” (Kristina) and Brian (Michele) Bowman; granddaughters, Megan and Hannah Bowman; sister, Mary “Dolly” (Gene) Tucker; niece, Whitney Wood and nephew, Stephen Hauck. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved dog, Cliffie. Family and friends may be received at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home (419-874-3133) 222 E. South Boundary, Perrysburg, OH on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM with memorial service to begin at 4:00 PM.
