Joseph Bud Blanton

Joseph Bud Blanton, 61, of Genoa, Ohio, died Monday afternoon, April 8, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Robert J. and Martha H. Pewitt Blanton, on December 10, 1951. Joseph graduated from the Genoa Area High School in 1970 and worked as a heavy equipment operator for U.S. Gypsum, now Genlime Corp., of Genoa for 31 years retiring in 2005. He enjoyed camping and going to flea markets and was a University of Michigan fan. He is survived by his sons, Robert J. Beverly Blanton of Toledo and William J. Blanton of Boaz, AL, grandchildren, Mallory Blanton, Makayla Blanton and Tyler Kaniewski, his parents of Genoa and sister, Cynthia H. Blanton of Margate, FL. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, to be followed by a graveside service at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
