Joseph P. Joe Ackerman

Joseph Patrick Ackerman, 46, of Nicholasville, KY, originally from Toledo, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Joseph was born to Ronald and Geraldine Ackerman of Toledo, who survive him in death, and graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon, OH, in 1988. He married his wife and true love, Carol, on December 22, 2001. He was an Information Technology Specialist for AMCOR for over 20 years. Joe, as he was known to his family and friends, was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, and was known as “Grandpa Joe” to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He loved spending time with his family, was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers, and riding his Harley. Mostly, Joe spent his life serving others and never missed an opportunity to share his talents and time to those who needed it. In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his wife, Carol Ackerman, their children, Paul “PJ” (Tamara) Golden, Lexington, KY, Sandra (C.T.) Smith, Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Madison, Alana, Steven, and Lydia; his siblings, Peter Ackerman, Cleveland, OH, Tina (Eric) Wells, Independence, OH, Tim (April) Ackerman, Nicholasville, KY, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Visitation will be at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, from 4-8 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday April 18, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White St. Toledo, OH, with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
