Jose Valdez

Jose Valdez, 86, of Oak Harbor, Ohio died Saturday, August 29, 2015 in his residence. He was born in LaPryor, Texas on September 13, 1928 to Albert & Victoria (Martinez) Valdez. He married Maybelle (Mincer) in Fremont, Ohio on March 25, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 28, 1994. Jose worked for the U.S. Gypsum Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed working and after retirement he enjoyed working at home. He also liked to go fishing and work on cars. His family was very important to him and he looked forward to being with them every chance he could get. Survivors include his children, Belinda (Dick) Horstman, Jose A., John, Mary and Paul Valdez, Violet (Willie) Valdez-Clay, Chris (Rocky) Walton, 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren, sister, Alice Vara, and brother, Alfred Valdez. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one granddaughter and several siblings. Visitation for Jose will be held from 9-11 AM, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St. Oak Harbor, OH 43449. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:30 AM, in the Harris-Elmore-Union Cemetery, Elmore, Ohio. Memorials may be directed to the family.
