Jordan Kotz

Jordan Kotz, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, after being diagnosed with cancer in September. Jordan was born May, 4, 1978 in Toledo and lived most of his life in the Toledo area. He attended Northern Michigan University and he worked in printing, most recently for Metzger’s Printing. Jordan was a person with many interests, enthusiasms, and concerns. He deeply enjoyed sharing his discoveries with others and had a knack for knowing what music, what books, what entertainment, and what issues others would care about. He treasured justice and kindness. Jordan was preceded in death by his deeply loved brother, Gregory; and by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Shelley Kotz of Toledo; aunts, Theresa Nottke and Susie Harold; uncles, Steve (Cathryn) Harold, Michael (Sue) Kotz, and Patrick (Christine) Kotz; and a number of cousins. He is also survived by friends, Derek and Laura Hansen; Judson Lohman and Sara Speelman, Jeremy Mahler and Sarah Horn, and many others. Due to the current situation, services will be private with burial at Resurrection Cemetery. When it is safe to be together in groups again, we will gather to share memories of Jordan and to celebrate all the ways he enriched our lives. Gifts to honor Jordan’s memory may be made to the Toledo Botanical Gardens or to any organization working for the values he cherished.
