Jon W. Lee

Jon William Lee, age 88, of Perrysburg, died on January 20, 2023. He was born in Martinsville, Indiana on July 10, 1934, the son of John William Kenneth Lee and Iris (Arnold) Lee. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1952 and the General Motors Institute in 1957 with a degree in mechanical engineering. After working at Allison Corporation and Lockheed Corporation, he began a career at Owens Corning Fiberglas in 1961 that lasted until his retirement in 1995.

In addition to being a voracious reader, he had a lifelong love of trains and served many years as a board member of the Union Pacific Historical Society, and he was active in Gateway Church in Findlay. When he wasn’t working or volunteering, he loved spending time with family, especially on trips to his beloved Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Bill and Iris Lee and sister Elizabeth Ann Bingham.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years Janice (Coffman) Lee, daughter Linda (Michael) DeWitt, son Bret Lee and daughter Joni (Gregory) North, grandchildren Brandon and Katherine DeWitt and Jonathan and Christopher North and great-granddaughter Zora North.

He will be interred at a private family ceremony. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Gateway Church, 9555 County Road 9, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
