John Zeiler

John passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2010. He was born May 1, 1932 to Leo Albert and Lavina Pfaffinger Zeiler. John attended St. Joseph Grade School in Maumee, Ohio and Libbey High School in Toledo, Ohio. He spent most of his life farming with his father and passing it down to his sons. He also served 28 years on the Board of Trustees in Harding Township and Lucas County Zoning Commission. He was a longtime member of Valleywood Golf Club, Farm Bureau and other various Farming Associations over his lifetime. John enjoyed collecting farm tractors, NASCAR racing and his favorite football teams, the Green Bay Packers and the University of Notre Dame. John is survived by his wife Angela; daughter, Debra Dan Edwards of Tampa, FL; sons, John Jr. and William of Swanton, OH; grandchildren, Sarah, Jenny and Allison Edwards of Tampa, FL and Elizabeth Zeiler of Swanton, OH; great grandson, Matthew Sullivan of Tampa, FL. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Rita Zeiler. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 2-9 pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant, Maumee, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 104 W. Broadway, Maumee at 10:30, with Father Keith presiding.
