John E. Zatko, Jr.

John E. Zatko Jr., 87, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday April 5, 2009 at the Genoa Retirement Village. John was born in Michigan on October 8, 1921 to the late John Sr. and Katerina Hanzel Zatko. On July 15, 1941 in Napoleon, OH, he married Inez Marcella Meyers, and she survives. John worked for the Ohio Turnpike retiring on April 1, 1986. He was a WW II veteran where he served in the railroad division in the Army. He was a member of the Millbury Fire Department for over 30 years and enjoyed camping, fishing, repairing small engines, and spending time with his family and former dogs Sheba and Micha. John also never missed the opportunity to attend Dads day at Coy school for his grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marcella, daughter, Nancy Mullins, grandchildren, Mark Shari Mullins, Christopher Mullins, and Rhonda Ralph Kesling, great grandchildren, Nicole, Hannah, Blake, Haley, and Halayna, sister-in-law, Barbara Meyers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Randal Mullins, sisters, Theresa L. Zatko, Mary Ann Gruben, brothers, Paul, Bill, Joe, and Frank Zatko. The family would like to extend a Thank You to all of Papas Angels at the Genoa Retirement Village, Louise, Robin, Christine, and Lashanda. They would also like to thank Dr. Sedelmeier, and those in the St. Charles ICU and Step Down stations. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. The family has requested memorials for John be made to the Rick Adams E.M.T. Memorial Scholarship, C/O Oregon Full-Time Firefighters, P.O.
