John M Wehmeyer

John M. Wehmeyer, 85, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on April 11, 2014 at his home in Perrysburg Commons. He was born on April 28, 1928 in Samaria, Michigan to Richard H. and Esther W. (Greiwe) Wehmeyer. John was a graduate of Whitmer High School in 1947 and the Ohio University in 1951, where he was a drum major for the marching band. He worked for over 45 years as a partner in Walbridge and Bellg Photography. He was a nationally known photographer and was responsible for the photos in the Libbe Glass catalog for many years as well as providing the photographs for The Splendor of Jade coffee table book. John showed Morgan horses and became a National Champion in 1992 in Gentlemen’s Pleasure Driving on a homebred horse called, Liaison. John spent 15 years after retirement in sunny Sarasota, Florida. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, antiques and warm weather. John is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Esther.
