John H. Vance

If you are reading this, you most likely knew Thee John Vance. A funny, giving, caring, and helpful soul, touching so many of us. If you knew him, there was story to follow. ManyDan, Jeff, Susan, Mary, Jackie, John Jr., Paul H., Randy, Jack, and Ken, Jeff M., Lynne, many more, and those friends that went before him produced stories that he repeated with love, laughter, and his dry wit. You know your story, if missed. That story was never missed in his heart. As well, his father, mother, and stepfather brought tears from their absence. May he now be in their care as he will be in so many hearts. John passed away on Monday November 14, 2011. John, through hard work and determination built his own empire. He started with a paper route and while in high school, started his floral business in the basement of his mothers home. He also worked at Erie Drugs, eventually had a small florist shop on Sylvania Ave. on to Little Pleasures. This enabled John to purchase real estate. He converted apartments into condos, that was the beginning of a more lavish lifestyle. He wore many hatsflorist, interior designer, business owner, realtor, buyer, traveler, etc. He is survived by siblings, Richard, Jeff , and Susan Vance; and his dogs, Bleu and Angel. He was preceded in death by his father, John R.; mother; Kathryn and stepfather; Robert Walbolt; and brother Robert. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2-7 PM at the Walker Funeral Homes 5155 W. Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd. where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM.
