John Matthew Tighe

John Matthew Tighe age 74 of Perrysburg, OH passed away peacefully on Monday June 14, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Toledo on June 23, 1935 to John Forrest Forrie and Hilda Schwartz Tighe. On January 12, 1957, he married Barbara Vogelpohl in Toledo, OH. John was a 1953 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1961 graduate from The University of Toledo. John worked as Treasurer for Faraday and Co. in Tecumseh, MI until retiring in 1997. Previously, he served as VP of Finance and Treasurer at American Warming and Ventilating, Maumee for 29 years. He was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. John was an Army veteran of the Korean War and also a member of the American Legion in Columbus, OH. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barb; son, Kevin Stacy Tighe of Cary, NC; daughter, Debbie Greg Branic of Strongsville, OH; brother-in-law, David Cathy Vogelpohl of Gainesville, GA; sister in-law, Connie Tighe of Linesville, PA; granddaughters, Courtney and Meghan Tighe of Cary, NC and Katie, Molly and Emily Branic of Strongsville, OH. Also surviving are 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas J. Tighe and sisters, Margaret Anne Tighe and Sr. Virginia Elizabeth Tighe OSU and his parents. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Thursday June 17th, 2010 from 3-8 pm with a scripture service to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 am followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church with Rev. Robert Wilhelm officiating. Interment will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
