John Tewers of Williston, Ohio died Friday October 9, 2026, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio May 11, 1947, to Harold and Carol Tewers.
He was always ready to talk to anyone. No matter where we went, he would always run into someone that knew Johnny. He loved going to Bob Evans and getting his blueberry pancakes, watching The Price is Right, and listening to his Polka music.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Gaile and Larry Money, niece, Lisa (Carl) Rider, and nephews, Paul (Beth) Money and Chris (Elaine) Money. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and cousins.
We would like to thank all of the staff at Luther Home of Mercy who have given Johnny so much love and care over the years. They gave him so much joy. When he came home, the first thing he would say is, "I'm not gonna stay all day; is it time to go back yet?" They were truly family to him.
Friends and family may gather from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Luther Home of Mercy Ministry Chapel. A funeral ceremony for John will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be held privately. Memorial donations in John's honor may be made to Luther Home of Mercy. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
