John D. Stormer, 76, of Perrysburg, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. John was born February 9, 1950 in Detroit, MI to Dale and Ruth (Madonia) Stormer. He married Carol Harrison on November 4, 1967 and the spent 58 years together.
John attended Devilbiss High School and furthered his education at The University of Toledo. He dedicated much of his professional career to the railroad industry, working as a Signal Inspector for Conrail/CSX until his retirement.
An avid enthusiast, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life-riding his bike, mowing the lawn, and immersing himself in the melodic world of music. He was particularly fond of reading and was a devoted fan of Sci-Fi movies, with a special affection for "Star Trek."
John is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Christina Wilkerson and Michelle (James) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Kristi Roe, Brianna (Mike Hernandez) Stormer, Kyle (Anna) Wilkerson, Rachel Hefflinger, Brittany (Cody) Munsinger, Madison (Alex) Heersche, Brandon (fiance, Katie Carnett) Willinger, Jonathan Wilkerson and Savannah Fitzgerald; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Stormer, Ronald Stormer; brother-in-law, Dennis (Marsha) Harrison and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dale John Stormer, brother, Thomas Stormer, son-in-law, Jeffery Wilinson; nephews, Jordan Stormer and Dominic Stormer.
Friends and family will be received Monday, August 10, 2026 from 11-12:30 P.M. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. Burial wil follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to St. Judes Childrens' Hospital. Condolences may be made to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
