John Joseph Rastocan, 65, of Maumee, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. John was born February 22, 1958, in Napoleon, Ohio to Joe and Jan (Hoeffel) Rastocan.
John worked as a CMT operator for Dana for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #320, The Legion Riders and the Maumee Eagles 2562. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1976 and still holds the record for most triples in a season (9). He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. John enjoyed fishing, traveling, motorcycle riding, 70’s Rock & Roll, country music and a good campfire. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his significant other, Shannon Ries; siblings, Judy (Herb) Gatwood and Jeff (Tracy) Rastocan; nieces and nephews, Dustin (Kathryn) Rastocan, Blayne (Brian) Sigrist, Jennifer (Charlie) Fischer, Michelle (Nolan) Parker, Joe (Reiley) Rastocan and John Rastocan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, (419-893-7686) followed by a prayer service at 5pm. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited to a celebration of John’s life at the Maumee Legion Post 320, 204 Illinois Ave, Maumee, OH. Burial will be private.
