John "Jack" Arthur Park, 84, died peacefully on October 2, 2026. He was born on April 15, 1942, to Wilson and Lucy (Widman) Park. Jack was the seventh of eight children. He lived his life as close as he could following the Christian Theology. Jack spent 11 years at the Josephinum Seminary studying to be a priest. When priesthood became an impossible vocation for him, he dedicated his life to other serving professions. He provided social services to mentally disabled individuals and their families. He also worked with juvenile and adult offenders assisting them to rejoin community living. Jack spent the last eleven years of his working life as a nursing home inspector.
In the summer of 1978, he met the man who was destined to be the love of his life, Harry Tennery. They began living together in May of 1983. On October 28, 2014, they eloped to Fort Wayne, IN, where they were married at the courthouse.
Jack is survived by his beloved husband, Harry; brother, Bob; sister-in-law, Diane; a host of nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol, Liz, Janie; brothers, Jim, Bill, Dick; his siblings-in-laws; and parents.
