John D. Oberle

John D. Oberle, age 78 of Toledo passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 in his home. He was born April 26, 1939 in Toledo to Dale and Coral (Meek) Oberle. A 1957 graduate of Libbey High School he was a member of the National Guard. John retired from the Jeep Corporation in 2001 after over 20 years of employment. He enjoyed home remodeling, landscaping, classic cars and as a child, vintage trains. John was a member of the Lancers Car Club, and was a Cleveland Indians and University of Michigan fan. John and his best pal, Deacon would go for walks daily, he loved animals and they loved him, having that special gift of animals being attracted to him. Preceded in death by his parents he is survived by his wife of 51 years,Barbara Galliers Oberle; daughter Jennifer Oberle; grandchildren Vince (Kaylee) and Cheyenne Oberle; brothers Tom (Lucia) and Steve (Pam) Oberle; and his best pal Deacon the dog. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd. Toledo after 10 AM where a memorial service will follow at 11AM.
