John E Oates

John E. “Jack” Oates, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Toledo Hospital. He was born December 25, 1934 in Stony Ridge to the late David and Edith (Frantz) Oates and on May 18, 1956 he married Vera L. Mitchell. Jack enjoyed his career as a Truck Driver for M & M Restaurant Supply. He was an avid card player and coffee drinker who will be best remembered for the time he spent with his family and beloved pets Chico, Rambo and Nipper. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Vera L. Oates; children, Peggy (Ray) Williams, Rory (Darlene) Oates and David Oates; grandchildren, Edie and Carrie Griffith, Aaron (Andrea), Brittaney, John and Hannah Oates, Nate, Austin and Brittany Reiner as well as 6 great grandchildren. In honoring Jack’s wishes, there will be no public visitation however his family will host a celebration of life and remembrance from 3-7:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the home of his son, David.
