John Hunt Jack Moor

John Hunt Moor Jr., age 76, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 8, 2013. He was born on October 10, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Virginia Frey Moor. Jack graduated in 1954 from Ottawa Hills High School and was a proud member of the kindergarten club. At Ottawa Hills, he thrived in sports and was named outstanding athlete. During his senior year, Jack was recruited by the Chicago White Sox but chose to continue his education at Albion College. Upon graduating from The University of Toledo, he enlisted in the United States Navy from 1959-1961. After the Navy, Jack joined Owens-Illinois Libby Division. He was Vice President of Steger-Showel Co. and finished his career at Buckeye Fixture. In 1961, Jack married Mary Pat Carroll the love of his life for 52 years. Together they raised three wonderful daughters. He enjoyed summers at Lake Erie, water skiing, fishing, golf, tennis, boating and travel. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Jack was a member of Toledo Country Club, Cotillion Club, Catawba Island Club and Sea Oaks Beach and Tennis Community in Vero Beach , Florida. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his three daughters, Toni Chris Kelly of Toledo, Kristin Mike Masterson of Cincinnati, and Theresa Moor Ricardo Soto of Mill Valley, California; grandchildren, John and Tom Yaggi, Clare, Erin and Maggie Kelly, Katherine and Sean Masterson, and Sophia and Cole Soto; brothers, Tom, Jim Judy Moor and sister-in-law, Jackie Carroll. The family will be receiving guests Friday at 10 a.m. at Gesu Church followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Toledo, Ohio or The John and Mary Pat Moor Scholarship Fund at St. Ursula Academy.
